John Fillwalk, Director of IDIA Lab will discuss a multi-user virtual environment interpreting Hadrian's Villa - an ancient Roman site in Tivoli, Italy. For this project IDIA Lab is developing a solar tracking interface connecting a NASA/JPL database to Jibe/Unity to control the position of sun in 130 CE, a custom avatar with motion captured gestures, dynamic weather systems, and native vegetation and terrain models. This project is supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation through research of Dr. Bernard Frischer, Director of the Virtual World Heritage Laboratory at the University of Virginia.
